Say goodbye to cheap cocktails and a giant pink gorilla as Tuesday 27 January marks the end of one of Huddersfield’s most cherished and iconic cocktail bars, Revolution, or Revs, as we all know it.
The official Instagram account for the bar posted that they were permanently closing sending partygoers and students into a frenzy, leaving many locals heartbroken.
The Revolution chain shut down 13 other venues across the UK due to “a continued period of external challenges”, including those in Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.
It is safe to say that Wednesday’s social night will not be the same without our beloved Revs.

Connor Robinson, West Yorkshire-based Photographer, said: “Huddersfield will never be the same again. After the loss of Revolution, [this town’s] night time economy has taken a massive hit.
“To me Revolution was a stepping stone into nightlife photography and the industry as a whole.
“I’ve met people through my job there who have become like a second family to me.
“There was no such thing as a bad night at Revolution, the atmosphere was unmatched.
“I’m eternally grateful for the opportunities all the staff gave me, I wish them all the best and hope they find roles where they can keep doing what they love.”
