What does being a student at this uni mean to you?
I’m a current final year Fashion Marketing student and I’m also president of Netball Society.

For me, I was very quiet when I joined uni and it’s given me an opportunity to meet new people, open up and actually find who I am.

I started in rugby and then I switched to netball and all of it contributed to who I am now. Societies are a big part of my confidence.

Why are running for this role?

I want to support people on the same journey as me and build confidence.

My brother took me to precious fair and showed me the rugby standing and Netball stalls and my family said “She won’t do it because she’s terrified” then as soon as I joined, I never looked back.

Now, being Netball President, I know how to approach people who are
really out there and ready to do anything and people take that little bit more time to warm up.

It brings me so much joy to see how many freshers this year, the quiet little fresher that started, are now running up and down the hall screaming things out from the other side of the room like crazy getting involved in the game.

And what do you hope to bring to this uni?

More mixing. I’ve actually said to a couple of people this week “I wish I had the opportunities to with global societies and religious societies”, I feel like it’s not out there enough.

If you commit into a sport, then your time is taken by that. That shouldn’t be the case. It should be adaptable. We should be catering to helping people attend other events.

Why should people give you their vote?
I’m genuinely going for it.

I’ve said this a lot, without sounding big headed, I feel like I’d do the job well just because I’d really invest my life into it.

The whole campaigning process for me is my worst nightmare. The idea of it is terrifying but I’ve got my head down and found a solution, I want to help everyone.

If you could sum up your campaign in three words what would they be and why?

Fun. Exciting. Geniune.

I’m playing my own game. Everyone’s out to get each other. If I get it, I’ve got it based on being me.
